Whilst many other template sites in this category offer a staggering array of templates from PowerPoints to Myspace pages, DreamTemplate focus strictly on website templates. This has its negatives and its positives. On the one hand, you don’t have to sift through piles of material just to find the template you have in mind and you are not paying for loads of templates you are never going to use. On the other hand, the fact is that many of these additional resources are very useful to website designers; animations, logos and photos to name but just a few. However, with both Premium and Basic Membership users do get access to a wide variety of resources to fulfill this need, it’s just a shame they couldn’t all be found on one convenient website.

The actual quantity of templates available on DreamTemplate is quite high so they should be able to provide you with what you are looking for. To aid you in finding just that, all templates are categorized according to key word, type, description, compatibility and designer. Once you have found something you like, you can see all the relevant information and a live preview before you download it which saves you a lot of time. Overall, we were impressed with DreamTemplate’s large and accessible collection of high quality, customizable templates. This, coupled with the additional sites to which you will get access to with DreamTemplates membership, makes this site a valuable resource for web design professionals. However, we would not recommend DreamTemplates to amateurs simply looking for a template for a one-off web site project.

Although in comparison to the going rate of $25 per template, unlimited downloads for $59.95 per month looks like a bargain. However, if you only need one template then why pay the $25 extra for templates and resources you will never need? Furthermore, without advanced web design skills it may take you days of work to put together all the components of DreamTemplates in order to build something you are happy with; better to just go for something “off the shelf” in our opinion.

Finally, we found DreamTemplates to provide pretty good customer response. Despite a rather sub-standard record in this department, it is quite clear that they have made efforts to improve this aspect of their service. The knowledge bank and FAQ are great sources of information not just for trouble shooting, but for useful guides and tutorials as well. Likewise, their blog is a useful source of up to date hints and tips on web design and DreamTemplates services. Most importantly however, personal support can be requested through a ticketing system through which you can expect a prompt and helpful reply.

In conclusion, after a significant overhaul of their services, DreamTemplate can be considered as one of the best website template providers on the market. Our only slight gripe is that they are not crystal clear on their price scheme and this is something we will hope to see them improve on in the future. However, we won’t let this get in the way of awarding DreamTemplate one of our Top Ten Spots.
